What you're running for

£400 could pay for the construction of two toilets.

Samara* and her 11 children are from a nomadic tribe in Sennar state, Sudan. Their home doesn’t have a toilet or any running water and they rely on sourcing water from their neighbours, "The water we fill up at our neighbours. We use plastic buckets to fill our ceramic pots and barrels." - Samara

In September 2019, Samara’s daughter Layla (8) and her granddaughter contracted cholera. When Layla could no longer stand up, Samara rushed Layla to hospital where she was treated.

Save the Children’s Emergency Health Unit rapidly deployed to Sudan to work with the Government of Sudan and the World Health Organisation to bring the cholera outbreak under control. We worked in the hardest hit areas and constructed Cholera Treatment Centres, trained health workers, provided vulnerable communities with cholera prevention kits and supported the second round of the mass cholera vaccination campaign.

By running a marathon, you're changing the future for children like Layla.
