“When you go to sleep you start thinking about what you’re going to feed your children tomorrow or where you’re going to get it from. I’m scared of the war. I’m scared of the jet fighters and of hunger,” says Suad*.
Her one-year-old son, Nusair*, is severely malnourished and fighting for his life. The war in Yemen has trapped him in a food crisis that may have already killed 85,000 children.
Yemen is a perfect storm of humanitarian, protection and economic crises, with each fuelling the other. Yemen’s children are in the eye of that storm and their fight to survive gets harder every day.
Our teams are in Yemen right now, making sure children can get food to eat, access healthcare, continue their education and be protected from violence. But the crisis is worsening. We are doing everything we can to reach the most vulnerable children across Yemen, but the on-and-off blockade is restricting our access. Children urgently need your support to help them survive.
You can help children like Nusair get through this. Just £30 could buy a package of therapeutic food, which could help a child recover from severe acute malnutrition.
