Coronavirus (COVID-19) information for our shop supporters

Our shops have been temporarily closed in order to support the nationwide effort to control the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and protect our staff, volunteers, and supporters.

In line with government advice, we plan to start re-opening some of our stores from mid-July.

“I am delighted that we are now able to re-open our shops but of course we must change how we work, how we run shops, and how we all work together," commented Ian Matthews, Trading Director.

“Our Trading team have been working hard to ensure that shops will be as safe as possible when we re-open and have been reviewing our trading operations and ways of working with the safety of our people, supporters and communities at the heart of our decisions.”

Protective measures that Save the Children are planning include placing donations and returns in isolation for 72 hours, installing till guards at till points and supplying hand sanitiser for staff, volunteers and supporters. Signage has been created to help manage social distancing & contactless payment will be preferred where possible too (click here for our full health and safety statement).

The approach to accepting donations will be different for each shop, depending on storage facilities so please call ahead when you’re ready to donate to check the best time for your local store.

Your preloved items will be hugely appreciated once we're back up and running, so please do hold onto anything you wish to donate until then or order a donation bag from us here .

In the meantime our online shop is still open
