Everything you need to start turning your gaming and streaming into fundraising events for Save the Children.

Why stream for Save the Children UK?

Every child has the right to learn.
Every child should have good food to fuel their bodies.
Every child should have medicine when they're sick.
For over 100 years, we've fought for a fairer world for children.

Together with families, supporters and partners, we work to help every child get the future they deserve.

Here are some ideas to inspire you:

  • Host a multiplayer tournament with your friends and followers.
  • Stream yourself playing the latest game releases.
  • Have a board game night with friends and broadcast it online.
  • Set donation milestones, such as dancing every time you reach a certain amount.
  • Engage your viewers with polls, incentives, and rewards to keep the excitement high.

Promote your stream

  • Make sure to tell your friends and followers about your stream. We've got social media graphics you can use to post on different channels.
  • Email us to get the social media assets.

Engage your audience

  • Use polls and challenges to involve your viewers in your gaming experience.
  • Use our helpful fundraising guide to add incentives on Tiltify which help show the impact of donations.
  • Make sure to thank your donors during your stream, so they feel appreciated.

All the money we raise will help Save the Children UK's projects to improve the lives of kids here in the UK and around the world.
If costs or needs change, we'll make sure the funds go where they're needed most to help the children and communities.

Streaming is a fun way to raise money, but it’s important to stay safe while doing it. Here are some of our tips:

  • Choose your privacy settings carefully to control who can see your activity and interact with you.
  • Be respectful and report any abusive behavior you encounter.
  • Never share personal details like your full name, address, or phone number.
  • If you don’t feel comfortable showing your face you could use a unique username and an avatar instead of personal photos.
  • Take breaks to stay refreshed and focused.
  • Be cautious and download only from legitimate sources to avoid scams and viruses
  • Only participate if you are 18 years old or over. You must be 18 years old or over to register for any Save the Children online activity.
  • Uphold our values at Save the Children. We strive to treat everyone with fairness, respect, tact, and dignity; this includes the children and families we serve, our supporters, volunteers, and anyone else involved in fundraising for the charity. We expect anyone involved in fundraising for Save the Children, or anyone representing the Save the Children brand, to uphold these values too, and to agree not to bring Save the Children’s reputation into disrepute. This means that you are committing to not using or promoting language or content that is discriminatory or harmful in any way.
  • Keep safe online. Remember not to share any personal information such as your address, email address, phone number, or any financial information. Direct all fundraising for Save the Children to your official fundraising page. Please report any inappropriate behaviour (here is advice from Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, X, and Meta on how to report this kind of behaviour).
  • All participants of “Save Point” follow the same Community Guidelines as Twitch which can be found HERE.
  • All participants are responsible for the behaviour of their audience or players they engage with. Moderation and chat rules must be in place for your stream to go ahead. We encourage participants to assign a moderator for the duration of their stream.
  • Should participants wish to promote other brands/items during their fundraising livestream, these must be pre-approved by Save the Children. Please send details to [email protected]

Do:

  • Promote your fundraising efforts positively and respectfully.
  • Engage with your audience and encourage them to support the cause.
  • Follow all platform-specific guidelines and community standards.

Don't:

  • Use or promote language or content that is discriminatory, harmful, or inappropriate.
  • Share personal or sensitive information online.
  • Engage in any activities that could bring Save the Children’s reputation into disrepute.

The small print

We aren’t able to promote events before they’ve happened – but we do use our social media platforms to celebrate fundraising successes.

Email us on [email protected] if you'd like to request a social media post  - we can't guarantee one but it's worth an ask! We'll need a photo, your social media handle and a brief summary of your fundraiser. If you're under 18, we'll need a parent / guardian over 18 to email us.

Spreading the word about your fundraising is much more successful when it comes from you, so we’ve created a handy guide to using social media to help you.
