How we're helping children in Afghanistan

“Thousands of children and families are now without homes, without shelter. They have lost everything. The terror of aftershocks and buildings collapsing has forced families out into the open in Herat." - Arshad Malik, Country Director for Save the Children in Afghanistan.

This is a crisis on top of a crisis. Even before this disaster, children across Afghanistan like 12-year-old Temor* (on the picture above) were struggling with severe hunger. This disaster will make many of their lives even harder.

Save the Children is responding with emergency humanitarian assistance to support children and families.

We're working with partners to help families with:

  • cash distributions
  • baby hygiene kits,
  • wellbeing kits,
  • and mental health support for children.
