Den Day

Build dens. Raise money.

It’s easy – build dens together at school or take part at home, on a date that suits you, and raise money to change children’s lives. The money your den-builders raise will help make sure more children around the world have a safe place to sleep and play.

Take part at school

Build dens together at school on a date that suits you and raise money to change children’s lives.

Pupils will have fun, get creative and learn about the importance of shelter for children across the world as they build their own.

You can download everything you need to take part including a guide with den-building ideas and fundraising tips, posters, bunting and flag templates to decorate your dens and lesson plans to link Den Day in to the curriculum.

Raise money however you like for Den Day – ask pupils to get sponsored for their den-building or get everyone to bring in a donation on the day. There are lots of fundraising ideas in your teacher’s guide.

Children from Stewart Fleming primary school take part in Save the Children's Den Day.

Take part at home

Build a den with your children for Den Day and help them get sponsored to sleep the night in it.

Den Day is a great way for them to get creative and spend time with the family. And best of all, the money they raise will help children growing up in some of the toughest places in the world.

Simply pick a date to take part and download your free fundraising kit with everything you need, including:

  • Fundraising tips to help your den-builders get sponsored
  • Den ideas to transform everyday items like blankets, chairs and cardboard boxes into a magical hideout
  • Great educational activities that will help your children understand more about some of the challenges other children face and how their fundraising can help.

Children take part in Den Day for Save the Children.
