Your wonderful welcome messages for child refugees

Before Christmas, we teamed up with education publisher, Pearson, giving books to child refugees arriving in the UK to help them feel welcome as they start to build new lives here.

They weren’t just any books either. They’re especially for children and young people who don’t speak English as a first language.

We gave Save the Children supporters around the country the chance to write personal welcome messages to go inside the books, and thousands of people got in touch with notes of their own.

We’ve been so moved by everyone’s messages, so we thought we’d share some of them with you.

Children as young as four years old added their messages of welcome:

Members of Parliament were also among those to leave messages of support:

Arabic: “Welcome – you’ve come to stay with family.”

It’s not too late to leave your own welcome message for child refugees arriving in the UK – send us yours today.
