The rivalry begins in our North London derby!

I’m into my second week of training for our upcoming 6.4km run round Arsenal stadium, and it has not been easy!
The cold air has frozen my lungs and I’ve found myself needing to prop myself on a bollard to try to regain strength.
My husband, on the other hand, is being quite smug and believes he doesn’t need to train.
He’s a builder and so is on the move all day and feels this will translate to jogging around Emirates. Smug.
Kick up the bum
So, on the day I will not hesitate to leave him behind when he’s staggering and out of breath. And I will give him a kick up the bum when I overtake him on the next lap.
We’ve both made a start on fundraising though and it’s going really well. We’ve raised £190 so far on our Just Giving page, mostly due to my friends’ shock and disbelief that we’re actually doing this.
Tea and cake
He’s managed to pursue his mates at work to chuck some money in a pot, but had to bribe them by promising to make the tea for the next two weeks.
Between us we’ve raised enough so far that we could fund school bags for 17 children in Sierra Leone. We might need to call a truce on our fundraising and unite to raise more – a sl;ice of homemade cake for £1 to go with that cuppa, lads?
