Teacher’s Pack – coming soon!

We’ve started work on a teachers pack on world hunger, entitled “Enough Food in the World”, aimed at students aged from 11 to 13 years old.

The pack can be used for teaching Citizenship lessons, culminating in an assembly on the same theme and children taking part in the World Marathon Challenge on 16th Oct.

The three lessons set out in the pack aim to provide students with a strong understanding of how hunger affects the lives of so many children in the world, and why this is happening. It also seeks to encourage them that there are solutions to this problem – and that they can have a part to play in this.

Highlights include:

  • using real stories to produce mindmaps of how hunger affects children’s lives
  • carrying out your own myth-busting around the causes of world hunger
  • making short news reports about successes in tackling hunger

The assembly addresses some of the key learnings from the lessons, but also focuses on the World Marathon Challenge as a positive moment when children across the world will run against hunger.

More news to follow in early July…
