Phoebe, 10, takes the plunge

Ten-year-old Phoebe from Somerset proved herself a true life-saver when she swam 60 lengths – more than a mile – for Save the Children.

In a summer of inspirational Olympic feats, Phoebe’s personal best raised an amazing £200 for our vital work around the world.

“When I saw Save the Children’s advert on TV it really affected me and made me want to do something,” said Phoebe.

“I love swimming, so I decided to do a sponsored swim for Save the Children,” she explained.

Great lengths

Phoebe went to great lengths to pull off her aquatic challenge. “She’s been there at the pool every day this summer, come rain or shine,” says her mum, Rachel. “She did it all off her own back.”

All the hours of hard work paid off, as Phoebe completed her marathon swim and became a genuine children’s champion. “Afterwards I felt exhausted, but really proud inside,” said Phoebe.

Congratulations to Phoebe on a fantastic achievement. A huge thank you for your efforts to help children around the world.

Our thanks to everyone who supported Phoebe.
