Celebrating a fantastic fundraiser

So it’s May and yet again time has rushed by. Last time I wrote it was March and we were busy sending out resources for all the fundraising events people were telling us about.

We’re still very busy, but at the moment it’s with Save the Children Week and the launch of Build if for Babies – our appeal to build seven new health clinics in Bangladesh.

We’ve been getting into the spirit of things with cake sales, book sales, bucket collections (we even had some brave colleagues who dressed as a smurf and a peanut to help raise even more money!) and lots of other things.

We’ve started to decorate some bricks and create our own ‘Build it for Babies’ wall too.

Supporter of the Month

We’ve also been hearing stories of all kinds of amazing fundraising events which our supporters have been involved in.

Our Supporter of the Month for May is Sir Bill Taylor, who decided to ask for donations to Save the Children for his 60th birthday instead of gifts.

Entertainment was provided by a Simon & Garfunkel tribute band and everyone had a great evening.

The total raised so far is £560 but there are more donations to come!

How you can get involved

It’s great when we’re busy as it means supporters are getting involved and helping us to raise much-needed funds to help our vital work saving children’s lives.

We love hearing everyone’s stories and getting to share some of our own about the work Save the Children has been able to do as a result of their fundraising efforts.

If you’re planning an event or would just like to chat to someone about how you can get more involved, please give our Supporter Care team a call on 020 7012 6400 or email us at supporter.care@savethechildren.org.uk.
