Supporters of the month: July

We’ve been really busy during July in Supporter Care. We’ve had (and continue to have) a fantastic response to our East Africa Appeal.

There was also the launch of Born to Shine which caused a great deal of excitement (rumour has it some members of our team may even get to go to ITV studios and be on hand to answer questions during the final show!).

However, we’re never to busy to recognise the efforts of our brilliant supporters.

The first person we would like to tell you about is Dylan aged 5 from Southampton. He saw our advert and decided to do a sponsored swim to raise some money.

In the end he managed to raise £50! What’s even more impressive is that Dylan isn’t yet out of armbands and has a fear of having his face submerged in water.

He was so determined to help that he conquered his fear, swimming 40 metres using just a float.

Our second story is of another 5 year old – Joshua from Hertfordshire. When he found out that there are children who don’t even have clean water to drink or enough food to eat, he made a plan.

He decided to put his creativity to good use and started drawing pictures, which he is giving away in return for donations to Save the Children.

Joshua says “I am drawing pictures to help children in far away countries have clean water and taps!”. You can find out how to get hold of one of Joshua’s drawings by visiting his website http://savingtheworldwithcrayons.yolasite.com/

As always, we would like to thank everyone who has done something amazing to support Save the Children this month. We really couldn’t continue our vital work saving children’s lives without your help. Thank you!
