Our health team in South Wollo, Ethiopia

Some of you may know them already – but let me make a stab at introducing you to some of the fantastic Save the Children UK team in Ethiopia. Here is the Health team covering South Wollo, Amhara region.

Anteneh Girma is the Health Technical Manager based in Addis and he is very linked into all we’re doing on the ground in Health. He has a medical background and is just an endless source of amazing insight and knowledge on all things health-in-Ethiopia related!

Alemayehu (Alex) Addisie is the area manager for South Wollo. All of our work here is health-related – a number of maternal and newborn child health focused projects, a large community case management programme (training Health Extension Workers to treat pneumonia and other childhood illnesses) managed by Miki Meteku (not pictured) and a water and sanitation project managed by Alene Wolde Yohannes (below).

Reporting to Alemayehu is Ambachew Amare (below) who project manages the many other health projects in South Wollo. He sees nutrition interventions and water and sanitation education as absolutely key to reducing newborn and child mortality in South Wollo.
