Congo: Photographic Kinshasa

I’ve just been on skype to a friend who’s coming to Kinshasa in the next few weeks. It was great to be able to tell her not to worry! How fast your mindset can change…

I’ve only seen one tiny part of this huge city – Kinshasa is home to about 10 million people – but this bit definitely looks good. Palms and banana trees, brightly painted shops, colourful fabrics, rainbow-striped umbrellas lit from below so that they glow in the dark while people crowd underneath to buy phone credit or snacks. It’s begging to have it’s photo taken.
