Time is running out in Copenhagen

The mood among Save the Children delegates today is one of sad resignation.  This morning’s news headlines spoke of a potential deal being ‘insufficient’ and the summit ‘veering towards farce’.

Barack Obama has just addressed the conference but he hasn’t really said much that’s new.

He said he came here to act, not just to talk, but with just a few hours of the conference left, time is running out.

What we need is a politically binding agreement for cutting emissions and long-term financing for adaptation. Thousands of children’s lives depend on it.
