This is it… we’re off to the mountains!

I can’t believe this day has finally arrived.  Our bags are packed and we are just now waiting to get on the coach to head off to the airport and on to Leh.  The trek has been so long in the planning, thinking about, buying all our gear – its hard to believe we are now actually on our way!

We’ve had a good couple of days in Dehli.  The Taj Mahal on Thursday was beautiful but it was so hot, a whopping 44 degrees!  But well worth the 5 hour coach journey (each way!) and the burst tyre!!   Yesterday was a little stressful waiting for all the t-shirts to clear customs but with a little intervention they finally arrived in time for us to distribute to our fellow trekkers.  Today we had the press conference and photo shoot so keep an eye out on CNN – we should be famous!  We then spent a couple of hours this afternoon in the Dilli Haat bartering for some local crafts and rounded the day off with a Rickshaw ride – great fun!
