South African folk hero Nelson Mandela

Mandela led the struggle to replace the apartheid regime of South Africa with a multi racial democracy. he was imprisoned for 27 years and went on to his country first black president. he was born in Transkei, South Africa on 18 july 1918 and he was given a name of nelson one of his teacher. his father Henry was a respected adviser to the tembo royal family..

In 1948 the national party came in power and began to implement a policy of apartheid or forced segregation on the basis of race. the ANC staged a campaign of passive resistance against apartheid laws. in 1952 Mandela become a deputy president of the ANC party.

In 1990 the south african government responded to the internal and international parliaments and released Nelson Mandela, at the same time lifting the ban against ANC. In 1991 Mandela become the ANC leader..

He was awarded the nobel peace prize together with Fw De Kleik. then the following year south africa held its first multi racial elections and Mandela become the first black first president in south africa. So i just think like this is the right time for us as young leaders to say thanks to him and we wish you more good lucks.
