Saving the day in Niger

We found out some amazing news on Tuesday. The intensive nutrition centre I visited and wrote about in Aguie, Niger now has funding for September! We turned around a proposal and had funding confirmed from a dedicated, valued supporter – Church Communities UK- in just a few days. Not only are they supporting the centre for September, thanks to their generosity, we are also going to be able to purchase a desperately needed 4 x 4 ambulance and run it for a year.  That means that we’ll be able to rescue all the urgent referrals, getting malnourished children the emergency, intensive care they need — children who sometimes have moments to live. High fives and hugs and pure relief for Dr Didier who runs the centre, who lives on site, on call 24 hours a day, who could tell his team they can continue their life saving work.

Thank you Darvell Church Communities UK for saving the day! They supported other priority projects such as our emergency appeal in Kenya the same day too. None of this work would be possible without our fantastic supporters.
