Lovely Lensbury Ladies!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of playing tennis with 49 lovely ladies at the beautiful Lensbury Club in Middlesex when they held their first ever Save the Children Tennis Tournament as part of the national event which is supported by Andy Murray.

The tournament was put together by a wonderful club member who is as passionate about Save the Children as she is about her tennis. With the help of one of the club coaches she was able to put on a morning event with both a competitive draw and a fun draw for the “rusty racquets”.  The winners from the competitive side will move on to the London & south east adult Regional Finals of the Save the Children Tennis Cup at Esporta Chiswick Riverside in September.

It was a wonderfully social occasion with the club kindly opening its doors to non-members which meant that there were lots of ladies playing from other clubs and many new friends made.

The tennis was followed by a sandwich lunch and prize giving.  A considerable amount of money was raised for Save the Children and a fun time was had by all.

Win, win, win, win, win!
