FUNdraising in Cardiff

Next week sees the launch event of one of our newest supporter group in Wales, the Cardiff Young Professionals.  These intrepid fun seekers are holding a fundraising pub BBQ at the Y Mochyn Du in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on Thursday 24th September.  For those of you who don’t speak Welsh, this translates to ‘The Black Pig’.  The fun kicks off at 6:30pm and there will be a jazz band, raffle and no doubt more sausages and burgers than you can shake a Save the Children balloon at.

All the members of this fabulous Supporter Group are full of energy and enthusiasm and keen to bring about dramatic change for children, but they’re also partial to having a bit of fun too.  And that’s the great thing about volunteering for Save the Children, you can make a difference while having fun and making new friends.

The Cardiff Young Professionals first began meeting in the summer and they’ve quickly formed into a dynamic group which has held a bucket collection at the new Cardiff City Stadium and now is poised to make its mark on the Cardiff social scene with their end-of-summer BBQ extravaganza.  The group meets about once a month at a Cardiff pub and enjoys a couple of drinks together while planning their next fundraising shindig.  If you would like to find out more about the Cardiff Young Professionals’ group activities you can join their Facebook group.
