EU elections – the really scandalous question of expenses

You will have done well to avoid all the hullabaloo about MP expenses recently.  Whether you think the revelations had been shocking, or just par for the course, it’s raised some important questions about the accountability of elected representatives to people like me and you.  That’s why the European elections are important.

People across Europe will be going to the polls this Thursday (June 4th) to elect their representatives in the European parliament. MEPs have a say in important decisions within the EU that mean more than a lucky few are given the gift of a decent start in life.  It is a scandal that children are being denied life’s basics – a good meal, clean water, healthcare – and that they are dying as a direct result.    Make it known that 9.2 million child deaths is a truly scandalous expense

Get to know who your local candidates are for the European elections this week.  Tell them you think a child dying every 3 seconds is a scandal.  And that you want it stopped.
