We go in the same direction

At the end of my visit I spoke to Esther and Grace who are the community liaison workers for the education team.  Their job is to evaluate the schools, take enquiries from the communities about IDPs and to help vulnerable children.  They are also involved in finding teachers and training them, distributing school kits and student kits.  It’s a busy job.  Both Esther and Grace have studied rural development at university and are happy to have the chance to give something back to their communities.  I asked Grace about her job and she said “My job is important to me because every time I make contact with my community it is easy for me to do my job. We help each other and work together – we go in the same direction”

It was great to get to see what some of our programmes do and how much we help the lives of these children. But I better get back to writing my reports!
