IFR Awards

The annual IFR (International Finance Review) Awards, of which Save the Children has been the beneficiary charity for 26 years, has raised over £29.2 million for our work – providing vital funds to support children to reach their full potential.

Each year more than 1,000 of the world’s most senior investment bankers gather in London, to celebrate capital markets success and take part in a charity fundraiser to support the organisation.

On Wednesday 8th September 2021, the 2020 IFR Awards Reception took place at Haberdashers Hall and raised an incredible £884,000 for children.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions and guidance, the 26th annual event format changed from an evening gala dinner to an outdoor afternoon reception and was attended by 90 guests from the finance and banking community.

Our Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, was also in attendance - meeting with guests and sharing a short speech on our work, before presenting the prestigious Bank of the Year trophy to Morgan Stanley. Morgan Stanley made history by contributing the largest single donation in the event's 26-year history!

The funds raised through this event go to our Flexible Funding which allows Save the Children to direct funds to wherever the need is greatest. Whether it’s helping the poorest children keep learning from home in the UK, creating and piloting innovative programmes, or responding to emergencies around the world.

Flexible funds also allow us to fund essential programmes where the need may be forgotten or largely ignored. When a crisis doesn’t make the headlines, children’s stories aren’t told, and those lifesaving funds are harder to raise.

Thank you to the IFR community for continuing to fight for children’s futures and support more children around the world, so they can become who they want to be.
