Activist, model and founder of Girls Talk, Adwoa Aboah has been a Save the Children Ambassador since 2018.
Adwoa visited Northern Uganda in 2017 with best friend and photographer Felix Cooper to support our Protecting Children in Conflict campaign. Whilst there they met with women and girls who have fled South Sudan due to ongoing conflict to get an insight into their experiences.
They were so moved by their visit that upon returning to London they decided to co-chair a brand new event, Big Up Uganda, to raise further funds for Save the Children’s work in Uganda. The event took place in October 2018, raising over £345,000. Committee members and guests included Edward Enninful, Laura Bailey, Liam Payne, Karen Elson, Professor Green, Bella Freud, Clara Amfo, Shy FX, Jamal Edwards plus more. Media coverage included Vogue and Evening Standard.
Adwoa has also supported our Christmas Jumper Day campaign, creating and modelling a beautiful Selfish Mother sweatshirt which was sold to raise additional funds for Save the Children.
