Burkina Faso

We've been working in Burkina Faso since 1982, helping ensure children get the food, nutrition and healthcare they need.

Food Security

Food security is a major issue in a country that is vulnerable to both flooding and droughts. Many people are subsistence farmers, and so entirely dependent on the weather for their livelihoods.

As the effects of the climate crisis become more evident, the risks will increase.

Malnutrition

Our teams in Burkina Faso are working hard to treat and prevent child malnutrition. We've partnered with the government to increase the reach of health services so that malnourished children get better care. And we're monitoring the availability of food across the country to ensure action can be taken quickly at the first signs of a shortage.

Education

We're also working hard to improve the quality of education and get more children going to school, in partnership with the Ministry of National Education. And we're raising awareness of children's rights.
