Mim on a Mission
At just 16, Mim* is already a force to be reckoned with in her community. She’s tackling some of the biggest challenges kids face in her slum on the outskirts of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Growing up here can be unsafe and uncertain for girls like her.
Support like yours helped Save the Children create a safe space where Mim and her friends can embrace all the joys of girlhood – while learning about their rights and how to defend them.

Finding her strength
Lina*, 12, is a free spirit. She adores birds and the sky, and longs for adventures outside Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan, where she lives.
Life there isn’t always easy. But thanks to you, Lina found her place at the girls’ empowerment centre. It's a rare space where more than 250 girls aged 10-19 learn everything from art and yoga to self-defence.
It's here that Lina discovered a talent for drawing and languages. But what excites her most is self-defence and how strong it makes her feel.
“It’s a very happy place and I love it,” says Lina.

Myroslava*, 6, plays at a Child Friendly Space in Kharkiv, Ukraine. She was just 2 years old when her family fled their home as the war escalated. Years of displacement, air raid sirens, and separation from friends left her anxious and withdrawn. Now, through psychosocial support, arts and crafts, and play at the Child Friendly Space, she's rebuilding her confidence and making new friends.

In 2025, we created 47 safe spaces, giving 15,000 children a place to play, receive emotional support and regain a sense of normality.
