Save the Children welcomes Keir Starmer’s fresh commitment to a child poverty strategy
JULY 26, LONDON - Becca Lyon, head of child poverty at Save the Children said: “Keir Starmer’s fresh commitment to a child poverty strategy could be life-changing for families in the UK.
“Only a whole government approach will truly tackle child poverty and Save the Children has been calling for a strategy for years.
"But in order ‘to drive down levels of child poverty’, as the Labour leader pledged, there must be a clear plan in place, including robust targets and dedicated funding, starting with a commitment to scrap the two child benefits cap.”
