Eliot Whittington

Eliot is Save the Children's policy adviser on climate change, working as part of the conflict and humanitarian policy team. He joins the organisation from Christian Aid where he also did policy and advocacy work on climate change - supporting campaigning activities to influence the UN climate change negotiations that climaxed last year in Copenhagen. As well as following the policy issues under discussion at the talks he led a programme of activities to support groups in developing countries to better understand what was at stake. Before this he has worked on lobbying UK parliamentarians and political parties for Christian Aid, and on campaigning with the World Development Movement and with Oxfam GB. He first got really involved in campaigning on development issues back in 1998 when he attended the Jubilee 2000 human chain around the G8 summit in Birmingham.
