HAITI: People want to rebuild their lives as soon as possible

Three days in Haiti and it feels like an eternity even though the days just fly by!  There are simply not enough hours in the day.   The millions of affected people are still in need of urgent shelter, health care, food & water.  We come across orphaned or separated children every day and have to find ways to quickly put them in touch with relatives.  The destruction continues to shock; more houses are demolished every day.  A very good sign is seeing street sellers with bananas, home made food or crates of coca cola.  People want to rebuild their lives, as well as their homes, as soon as possible.

Amidst all the chaos and destruction I nearly melted when a little girl called Natasha was reunited with her aunt Maude; she was excited, bewildered and overwhelmed.  They don’t have much else, but having each other is a huge boost to their morale and confidence.
