In 2016, to celebrate Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day, WHSmith stocked two teddy bears called Benji and Bruno. The bears, who were sporting their own festive knits, were sold in WHSmith High Street stores and online, with £1 donated to Save the Children for every bear sold. We also launched a children’s competition to design Bruno and Benji’s new jumpers for Christmas 2017.
WHSmith employees joined in the Christmas Jumper Day fun, organising fundraising challenges in the run up to the event and wearing their jumpers in store on the day.
Through the kind donations from customers and employees, as well as the sale of Christmas cards, wrapping paper and Bruno and Benji bears, WHSmith raised an incredible £175,000 for Save the children’s Christmas Jumper Day in 2016!
