The International Financing Review (IFR) Awards Dinner, are one of Save the Children’s longest-serving corporate partnerships, supporting the charity since 1995.
Over the past 25 years this glamorous event has raised over £28.4 million - providing vital funds to help hundreds of thousands of children across the globe.
Each year, more than 1,000 of the world’s most senior investment bankers gather in London to celebrate capital markets success and to take part in a charity fundraiser – attempting to outbid each other in support of Save the Children.
2020’s event held in January at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, raised an incredible £886,232, with Citigroup topping the list of contributors thanks to a phenomenal bid of £500,000.
These funds raised goes to our Flexible Funding which allows Save the Children to direct funding wherever and whenever the need is greatest, increasing the impact we have for children. Flexible funds also allow us to fund essential programmes where the need may be forgotten or largely ignored. When a crisis doesn’t make the headlines, children’s stories aren’t told, and those lifesaving funds are harder to raise.
This short film shown on the evening highlights the impact of the funds raised through these dinners, enabling us to help every child reach their full potential.
