Actor Luke Evans has starred in Hollywood blockbusters including The Hobbit, The Fast & The Furious franchise, and the lauded live action remake of Disney’s classic, Beauty and the Beast. Having been introduced to Save the Children by luxury jewellery brand Bulgari in 2016, he has given the charity his full support and in 2016 became an Ambassador.
In his role as Ambassador for Save the Children he has supported numerous campaigns on his social media channels, visited our UK Programmes in his home town in Wales and he sits on event committees for us, including the Centenary Gala, the Winter Gala 2017, and took part in Letters Live.
Luke has taken part in all our Selfish Mother fashion campaigns, and his 2017 jumper sold out in 24 hours which made a huge difference to our fundraising target. He very kindly recorded some special footage for our Protecting Children in Conflict work in 2018, which drove a lot of awareness, not least across his sizeable social media following of 3.1 million fans.
Luke’s support has also taken him to see a Save the Children education programme in Pune, India which has been developed in partnership with Bulgari – one of the Save the Children’s global partners. Luke was keen to see first-hand the impact their funding has had.
“Seeing the impact that Save the Children’s programmes are having on the lives of these children is incredible. To see the smiles on their faces when they read and write and know that they’ll have a better life as a result is amazing. I’m so proud to be an Ambassador for Save the Children and Bulgari – their partnership is making such a big difference to these children’s lives. My visit to India will stay with me forever.”
Bulgari and Save the Children have been in partnership since 2009. Since the beginning of their journey, Bvlgari and Save the Children have changed the lives of more than one million at-risk children and youth through the power of education.
