World famous novelist, Helen Fielding, is best known for her Bridget Jones novels, which have sold millions of copies and found huge new audiences through the film adaptations.

Before finding fame, Helen worked for many years in London as a newspaper and TV journalist, travelling as wildly and as often as possible to Africa, India and Central America. Her experiences in Africa inspired her first novel, Cause Celeb, from which she donated a percentage of the rights to Save the Children.

Since then, Helen has been a loyal supporter of Save the Children, putting her name to many of our campaigns and events - from fundraising dinners to our vaccinations campaign.

To see our work in action, Helen spent time in Texas to document the US border crisis where increasing numbers of children were fleeing violence and insecurity in Central America and Mexico.

Most recently Helen joined us at our Christmas Carol Concert with a Bridget Hones inspired reading she’d written especially for the occasion.
