Known around the world for her dance work, Arlene was honoured with a Damehood in 2021 for her services to dance and charity. From creating the revolutionary group Hot Gossip in the 1970's to working with stars of film and stage, Arlene has become a household name.

In 2023, she visited a baby bank in Camden which Save the Children helps to run with local partners. Baby banks provide essential items for babies and children such as food, nappies and clothing, for parents who need extra support with the cost of a little one. As a grandparent it was quite an emotional visit for Arlene and a reminder of the breadth of Save the Children’s work across the globe, including in the UK.

And most recently, Arlene was our figurehead for a hugely successful campaign with the Times media group which aimed at encouraging supporters to donate to the charity in their wills.
