Our 2025-27 strategy

Lasting Change Starts Here

We’ve launched our new strategy for 2025-27 to make lasting change for – and with – the children who need it most.

Over a hundred years ago, Eglantyne Jebb stood before a crowd in London and declared:

“Surely it is impossible for us, as normal human beings, to watch children starve to death without making an effort to save them.”

Her words sparked a global movement. Today, we at Save the Children UK continue her legacy.

Our vision is clear: A world where every child is thriving, heard and valued, and hopeful for a more just, equal and sustainable future.

Our mission is not changing: In the UK and around the world, we will advance children’s rights and power by working with partners to design solutions and tackle the biggest problems facing children.

What does change is how we deliver: We know that true, lasting change can only happen if we work together, sharing power and resources to build a more just and equal world. Over the next few years, our vision for children will be our compass, guiding every decision we make.

Our 25-27 strategy – our three-year masterplan for creating lasting change for children – is the first stage toward achieving our vision for children.

OUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE GLOBAL MOVEMENT

Our strategy ‘Lasting Change Starts Here’ sets out three distinct goals we aim to achieve by 2027:

Children engage in Catchup club activities at a Primary School in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, Uganda.

Collective Impact

We will advance children’s rights by working alongside and building the power of children, communities, and local partners in the UK and around the world.

London Marathon 2023, Sunday 23rd April, London, UK.

Public Impact

We will build an active community of people in the UK who give money and take action to secure long lasting change for children.

Culture of Impact

We will transform into a lighter, more joyful, purposeful and connected, human-centric organisation that creates deep impact for children.

As a proud member of a global movement working in more than 100 countries, our refreshed focus will ensure we contribute to our shared global goals to ensure every child can:

·        Get a healthy start in life.

·         Learn and go to school safely.

·         Have a childhood free of violence.

·         Grow up in resilient families.

Here in the UK, we’ll focus on reducing child poverty and supporting families.

HOW WE CREATE IMPACT

Our aim will always be to achieve direct outcomes for children.

To make our vision for children a reality, we will build the power children hold to influence decision that affect their lives, tackle the biggest problems children face, and advance the rights of children and future generations most at risk of crisis, discrimination and inequality.

We will do this by working generously with partners, shifting power to communities, and championing local leadership.

We know the complex problems facing children – from climate change to conflict - demand urgent solutions. As Eglantyne Jebb once said, “It’s only impossible if we refuse to try.”

Let’s Begin.
