You could pause your gift for up to six months
Sometimes life simply gets in the way - and that's completely understandable. Maybe costs have gone up and your budget needs breathing room. Maybe you're on maternity leave, saving for a wedding, or heading off on a long trip and want to temporarily step back.
Whatever the reason, you don't have to cancel altogether. We can pause your regular gift for up to six months, giving you the space you need without losing your connection to the children you've been supporting.
When your pause ends, your gift simply resumes - no action needed from you, no gap in support for children.
To arrange a pause, contact our supporter care team who can set this up quickly and easily.
You could reduce your gift amount
If your current amount no longer feels manageable, we can reduce it. Even a smaller regular gift goes further than you might think.
86p in every £1 you donate goes directly to our work with children - from emergency response in conflict zones to education programmes for children who've never set foot in a classroom. A reduced gift still funds that work. It still matters.
To reduce your gift, get in touch with our supporter care team and they'll take care of it.
To get in touch with the team, you can email them at [email protected] or call 44 (0)20 7012 6400. Lines are open 9 – 5, Monday to Friday.
What your gift makes possible
It can help to be reminded of what's at stake. In 2024, your support helped us reach children in Gaza with clean water, healthcare and safe spaces during one of the most devastating conflicts in recent years. It helped pass a new law in Sierra Leone prohibiting child marriage - the result of years of patient advocacy. It funded community health workers in Kenya who screened and treated 1,300 malnourished children, and helped 60,000 out-of-school children in the Democratic Republic of Congo access education, including teenage mothers and children with disabilities.
None of this happens without regular givers. Institutional donors and emergency appeals fund specific projects, but your unrestricted monthly gift funds the work that falls between the gaps - the advocacy, the early response, the long-term programmes that don't make headlines but change lives.

If you're a UK taxpayer, there's one more thing worth knowing
-
If you've signed up for Gift Aid, we currently claim an additional 25p from HMRC for every £1 you give - at no cost to you. If you cancel, that additional funding stops too. It's a small thing, but worth considering. Find out more about Gift Aid.
