Snipers shot at sisters Nadia and Malak as they fled Syria with their family.

For six months, the family had been living in an area of Syria that was under siege - meaning food and medical supplies were scarce.

Once, says the sisters' father, the adults of the family were forced to go without food for two days so that their children could eat - they fed them dry bread soaked in water and sugar.

Now they live in a refugee camp in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon.

Millions of children around the world have been forced from their homes.

Some have made the perilous trip across the Mediterranean in search of safety in Europe. Millions of others, like Nadia and Malak, live in areas surrounding their home country.

How your donation will help children

We work around the world to help refugees, from Lebanon to Jordan, Europe to Tanzania.

We distribute food, water, blankets and tents to refugee families who have lost everything. And we ensure children get vital medical care.

Our teams work to reunite lone children with their families and keep them safe from trafficking and exploitation.

We provide emotional support, set up safe spaces where children can play, and help them get back to education.
