We are always stronger together. Mariam*, 14, Gaza, knows that better than anyone.
“I had a lot of help to overcome my tough situation,” says Mariam. “My teachers were there for me, my parents kept on encouraging me, my friends told me not to give up.”
But this girl from Gaza has an incredible inner strength, too. Her life changed forever the night a missile strike left shrapnel embedded in her left ear. She became traumatised, stopped talking and stayed indoors.
We supported Mariam with counselling, and over time, she started to get her confidence back. This Ramadan, your Sadaqah could make strength and confidence a possiblility for even more children.
