A devastating second wave of COVID-19 has engulfed India and children are under threat. New cases have soared to over 400,000 a day.

Your donation will allow our response teams to react quickly to emergencies around the world – such as the one unfolding in India right now.

How your donations can help

Your support means we can help children around the world grow strong, learn and survive.

  • £10 could pay for a medicine kit with vital supplies to treat children with COVID-19 in India
  • £24 could buy a hygiene kit containing items like a face mask and sanitiser, to help families in India protect themselves
  • £146 could provide at least one oxygen cylinder, providing life-saving treatment for people in India

Our Emergency Fund allows us to respond wherever the need is greatest - like the COVID-19 crisis in India - so we can quickly reach children with the essentials they need to survive.

How Are We Helping?

An Indian child wears a protective mask in the old quarters of Delhi, India.

Together, you've raised an incredible £150,000 so far to help support children in India through the second wave. With partner organisations in India, we're:

  • supporting health clinics and providing PPE for health workers
  • giving families cash, food and other essentials like soap and hand sanitiser
  • helping children to keep learning from home, and giving mental health support to those who need it
  • raising awareness of how families can prevent the spread of the coronavirus

How Are Children Affected?

With a significant surge in COVID-19 cases across India, many hospitals have entirely run out of oxygen supplies and beds; thousands of people have sadly lost their lives. Children are vulnerable to being left without food and life-saving healthcare. Schools have closed, leaving children isolated and putting their mental health and wellbeing at risk.

Unless we act now, millions will be in danger, go hungry and miss out on life-changing education.

Every child needs good food to grow up strong. Every child needs the chance to learn. Every child needs basic jabs to survive.

Make a promise to never take the future for granted.

Children washing their hands in Indonesia

With the help of our supporters, Save the Children has been helping children survive and flourish for more than 100 years.

At the onset of the pandemic last year we launched one of our biggest ever responses; from life-saving COVID treatment centres and providing PPE in Yemen to providing medical information and running health facilities in Bangladesh.
