Christmas Star Appeal

Coming together for Christmas

This Christmas, help bring more families together with Save the Children.

When you donate, to say thank you we’ll send you a Christmas Star decoration to remember your support to Save the Children each time you see it on your tree.

Christmas Star

The unique design represents coming together at this special time of year. The five points all joined up by a central Star represent your support in helping Save the Children bring families back together after war, disaster and famine.

The difference your donation could make

Christmas is a time that brings families together around the world. But every day in countries like South Sudan, Indonesia and Iraq, children can become separated from their families in the chaos of war and disaster.

By donating this Christmas, you’re helping to give children a brighter future. How your support could help:

  • Trace and bring families back together
  • Provide safe spaces where children can play and learn
  • Protect families from forced seperation

Help reunite families like this

Samer*, age 13, was separated from his mum and siblings when he fled Mosul, Iraq during the ISIS occupation.

Samer* was reunited with his mother after 4 months apart. Read his story below

"Only a mother's heart might understand my feelings after four months of separation"

We're helping families forced from their homes by conflict in Iraq and Syria

Samer*, age 13, was separated from his mum and siblings when he fled Mosul, Iraq during the ISIS occupation. For months, Samer did not know what had happened to his mum or his brothers and sisters.

Samer reached out to one of Save the Children’s child protection staff members to help him locate his family. Through Save the Children’s Family Tracing and Reunification programme, Samer was reunited with his mother after 4 months apart.

Samer, his mum and young siblings are now living together in a camp outside Mosul, Iraq.

"I don't know how to describe what I felt that day. Only a mother's heart might understand my feelings after four months of separation."
