Dom Joly

Dom has been a tireless supporter of our Syria campaign, visiting children in refugee camps in Jordan and promoting our fundraising events in the UK.

Award-winning comedian Dom Joly created global hit series Trigger Happy TV before going on to make shows for the BBC, FIVE, Sky One and Comedy Central USA. He is also an author, travel writer and columnist.

Dom Joly first started supporting Save the Children through social media, helping to raise awareness of the crisis in Syria. Then, in March 2013, Dom travelled with Save the Children to the Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan, on the Syrian border.

Talking about his experiences there, Dom said: "Whatever the rights and wrongs of the Syrian conflict, children are innocent and must be taken care of.

"The international community should do everything it can to help bring an end to the violence, however remote a prospect that is.

"In the meantime, we must make sure the innocent child victims of this conflict, like those I met in Jordan, are given all the help they need."

In 2018, Dom visited Eastern Ukraine as part of Save the Children's Protecting Children in Conflict video - see more below;
