Upholding Our Values
Accountability and transparency report 2014
Accountability and transparency go hand-in-hand, and involve being aware of who we are accountable to, what the important pieces of information are, and how they can be communicated most effectively.
Accountability means that we take responsibility for using our resources efficiently, achieving measurable results, and being answerable to supporters, donors, partners and, most of all, children.
Transparency means that the people we work with must have access to timely, relevant and clear information about our organisation. We are committed to presenting this information in ways that can be accessed and understood by all our stakeholders, in particular children and their communities.
To achieve these aims, alongside our Annual Report we publish an Accountability and Transparency report detailing our efforts to ensure that we remain answerable and responsible for our actions. To assess our progress against our commitments, we review activities across the whole organisation – from the senior management team to global programmes; humanitarian, advocacy and campaigns; donor institutions and corporate partnerships; fundraising; human resources; finance; legal; supporter care and facilities.
