This paper explores private sector involvement in children's education. Two case studies illustrate the key issues, in particular equity and quality. The first study was conducted in Jhapa, Nepal and the second in Karachi, Pakistan. The report also draws on studies of private sector education provision in India. The paper concludes with recommendations for the Committee on the Rights of the Child with regards to private sector provision of education.
