Save the Children and the Children's Rights Alliance for England have revealed what young children themselves think about smacking.
It Hurts You Inside is a summary booklet of children's views and contains powerful messages from children themselves to show why they believe smacking is wrong.
It was launched to coincide with the Report Stage of the Children Bill in the House of Commons. It was sent to all MPs, calling on them to support the campaign to give children the same legal protection from assault as adults.
The booklet will also be of interest to professionals and agencies working with children and families, including teachers, social workers, youth workers
and healthcare workers.
