There are over 70 million children in Pakistan.

Many of these children grow up with little access to basic rights such as health care, education and protection from abuse, neglect and exploitation.

In the past two decades Pakistan has made some progress towards recognising child rights, but these efforts are inadequate. There has been little improvement in the situation of children in Pakistan.

The current security and economic crises have worsened the situation.

Civil society in Pakistan is concerned about the deteriorating situation of children and has taken this opportunity to raise some of the more critical issues.

This report has been prepared by Save the Children UK (Pakistan office) and the Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Child (SPARC).

It reflects the views of a number of civil society organisations working for child rights across the country.
