Monday 26 July 2010
Volunteering with us is at the heart of achieving lasting change for children. We have 123 shops across the UK primarily run by volunteers raising vital funds for our work with children in the UK and worldwide.
Jo Norris, Save the Children's Regional Retail Manager for the North East, said: "We’re looking for volunteers from all walks of life and we’re always hugely grateful for whatever times people can give us.
"The work is varied, from serving in the shop, pricing stock to creating eye-catching window displays and even promoting our wider campaigns to customers.
“Shop volunteers are vital in assisting in the smooth running of the store and its profitability. and it is also a great opportunity for someone to develop their skills in retail and gain valuable experience.
"We offer fully funded NVQs in Retail, a great opportunity to progress your CV and of course, we'll cover any reasonable travel and lunch expenses too."
Any interested volunteers can apply by calling into the shop or by contacting Eugenie on 0131 527 8227
