Registration is now open for the 'Be a Gunner. Be a Runner' event at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 31 March 2012.
Monday 16 January 2012
The ten-lap run around the outside of the Gunners' home will raise money to help give the world's poorest children a better start in life.
Limited spaces – register now
Entry to the main race is £15 and due to the limited number of spaces available, all runners are encouraged to raise at least £100 in sponsorship.
The main race is open to anyone aged 15 or over (as of 31 March 2012). Following the success of last year’s event, there will also be two special junior races for under-14s on the day.
Be a top gunner
Any runner that manages to raise over £500 for the charity will be deemed a 'Top Gunner' and will receive a special gold running number on race day.
All runners will receive weekly newsletters featuring useful training and fundraising advice, and a full event guide ahead of race day.
Going global
For the first time ever, we're inviting supporters outside the UK to join in too by setting up their own 6.4km race on the day, wherever they live.
To enter, find and contact your nearest Supporters’ Club branch.
All runners overseas are invited to send photos or videos of themselves in action to feature in Arsenal's online gallery to be in with a chance of winning an exclusive Arsenal prize.
Gunners midfielder Alex Song said: “'Be a Gunner. Be a Runner' is always a great event that seems to get bigger and better every year!
"Myself and the other players have been lucky enough to see some of the incredible work that Save the Children does, so by signing up for the run you will be helping to make a real difference to the lives of many young people.”
A brighter future
“Despite being little more than six months into our partnership with Arsenal, we have been overwhelmed by the support and generosity that staff and supporters have shown," said Justin Forsyth, Save the Children CEO.
"Our dedicated matchday back in November was a huge success and I’m sure ‘Be a Gunner. Be a Runner’ will be another thoroughly enjoyable occasion that will help us continue our efforts to give more children the chance of a brighter future," continued Forsyth.
Last year’s event was the most successful to date, with 700 adult and junior runners raising more than £50,000 for charity.
