About me
We’ve just had nine baby chicks today, the children love playing with them
I’ve a lot of family in Kroo Bay. I like the nights the best, then the weather is cool and my friends come and sit with me outside the house. We talk, tell jokes and keep each other company.

My favourite things
I like music, traditional Sierra Leonean music. I also love films, especially Nigerian films. I like ‘love’ films. Nigerian films give me ideas and teach us about our home and how to deal with our husbands!
My big plan for the summer
I’ve been with my husband for 15 years, but actually we’re just engaged. We’ll get married this summer. We’re trying to get enough money to cement our floor before the rainy season starts because at the moment the water comes up through the floor.
My children
Two of my children go to infant school, the other two go to Regents Square school.
My oldest son, Amadou, is 14 and is in class five. He loves football. He plays with the youth team ‘Young Manchester’. He supports Manchester United.
Agnes is ten. She likes dolls and reading. She likes to go to school. She’s a good girl who helps me fetch water, wash and cook. Agnes wants to be a nurse.
Salimatu is eight. She says she likes the same things as her sister, but when she grows up she wants to work with a computer!

Dear Sunkari,
You sound sad, but at least contented with your life.
I couldn't hope for anything more but to have a family that loves me and makes me happy, even if we are surviving under a dollar a day. Life is not about money, you can have it all, but without love and family you got nothing in this world.
Keep it positive,
Love

Dear Sunkari, I am very happy to be able to talk to u today and to have read about u and your life, u are very good.
Hello! I am in Washington DC and my father is from a town called Njala in Bo.
Congratulations on getting married and I am happy to read about your life.
Dear Sunkari, we are worlds apart but with so much in common. My son is also 14 and supports manchester united ! My little girl is just 5 and she is lovely too - but I'm sure all mums think that about their little girls. One big difference, if I was to sit outside the house - I would get soaking wet and very cold as I live in a rainy part of the UK called North Wales. I truly hope you and your family are happy and healthy.
