About us
Hello!
I'm Isatu and I'm 15. I am a member of the Save the Children club in Kroo Bay. The club is all about children's rights in Kroo Bay.Our videos

What we do at the club
In the club we have children’s right quizzes and we do dramas about things that affect children for their parents to see. We go for workshops where we learn the rights of children. But we also play games and have fun because children have the right to play!
Standing up for kids
We do campaigns telling parents not to hit their children. When we hear any abuses, we investigate and if there’s a problem we refer it to the chief and the child welfare committee.The biggest problem is that many children don’t go to school; instead children as young as six or seven have to work all day!
What I like
We just had a football tournament with the other slum areas where Save the Children has clubs. I love being part of the club! I feel happiest when I go to school or when I am with my friends at the club. We sit together and tell stories.
I am 15 and I go to secondary school. My favourite subject is government, where we talk about laws, past events and the history of government. I want to be a lawyer. Too many people take advantage of the poor people!
Kroo Bay isn’t good
My family has lived in Kroo Bay for more than 40 years! Kroo Bay is not good: there are no toilets and children have to go to the toilet in the filthy river and then use the water to wash themselves. The houses are not good, when it rains it floods and water enters the houses.

I have watched the videos of kroobay village. Oh! I was realy touched. I will always stand beside you to fight poverty.
The other intersting thing is that the activities you are doing in the children's club - learning about your rights and fighting for them. Don't give up and stand for your rights.

Schools
I have read the profile and I was wondering whether there was primary schools as I have heard about secondary schools but nothing about primary schools. I feel so sorry for the people living here and see what an advantage in life we have.
