I love working with Anna and Guilhem, they are serious people. Anna asks very good questions and Guilhem is my brother. I've learned a lot about my community through this filming - what worries people and what their problems are. I enjoy the filming process very much.

It's been great working in Kroo Bay. People are a bit hesitant at first about the cameras, but when they hear why we are doing this they are quite happy to take part. We're also working with a great team of people!
Olympus have provided us with cameras for this project. They've also given us some for the community to use. So watch out for photographs taken by the people from Kroo Bay. Chris has already produced a slide show.

The biggest technical challenge here is sound. We constantly have a little crew of small kids following us about shouting 'snap me, snap me”'… and because of the narrow alleyways and the corrugated iron, sounds bounce everywhere. I'm enjoying working here even if it is hard at times.
The people of Kroo Bay have welcomed us and they say we're part of the community now. I feel a great sense of responsibility and I don’t want to disappoint them. I really hope this project will be a great success and that the living conditions in Kroo Bay will improve.
Anna
Getting to know people is the best bit. On normal commissions we rush in and rush out. Here we get to know everyone beyond the sad stories they tell. We've discovered lovely stories, such as a football team of eight year olds with a very serious and proud 12-year-old coach, and another from a boy who collects scrap metal but also makes the most beautiful kites. I already fear the day we’ll have to leave.

Thank you for the insight..
To the camera kroo, Save the Children and to the people of Kroo Bay,
Thank you for providing this insight into the realities of life in Kroo Bay. I've always been curious about communities such as yours and seeing these pictures and videos have given me something of a better idea. I am just about to start a course in Water and Sanitation Engineering and hope to work in places like Kroo Bay one day. All the best with the positive work you are doing to make a change for the better!

Hi Mohamed, Khadija, Anna, Guilhem and the rest of the band,
This fantastic initiative not only has an important historical value, for future generations to learn how things were at Kroo Bay in 2008, but it also has an immediate importance, to try to turn today's problems into history. Well done, all of you!
